MALCOLM GLADWELL

Malcolm Gladwell

You’ve probably heard of concepts such as “the tipping point” and “10000 hours”, even Macklemore titled the first song of his album “The Heist” after the latter. Both of these modern figures of speech are thought children of his books that became part of the general culture. The first book is titled “The Tipping Point – How Little Things Can Make A Big Difference” and the second is “Outliers – The Story of Success”. His great work doesn’t stop there however, because there are also slightly lesser known – yet just as important – books like “Blink – The Power Of Thinking Without Thinking” and “David and Goliath – Underdogs, Misfits And The Art of Battling Giants”.

His first 5 books were all on the New York Times Best Seller List and lucky for us he is also a great orator, so the distilled contents of his books can be easily acquired just by listening to him speak and have discussions with the listeners.

OUTLIERS - The Story of Success

In this talk held for Microsoft he quickly introduces the fundamental aspects of the book “Outliers” but I have to be honest, there is quite a lot more in the book so consider reading it anyway.

The Q&A session after his talk also helps bring out many more concepts and it allows the topics to range far beyond his book, making this an extremely interesting talk to watch.
