Yanis Varoufakis

Famous for being the Minister of Finance in Greece during the worst crisis with the government of Tsipras. He was a headline success because he went to work on a motorbike and he came from working in the video-games sector.

Essentially, he is a very experienced and interesting Economics professor, who is also an author and a speaker. His main argument is that economics should be explained in a manner that even a child could understand them, which is part of the reason why he is so interesting and so widely appreciated.

Capitalism vs. Democracy

One of his recurring themes describes the history of capitalism and how over time it has become a natural enemy of democracy.

This might seem far fetched at first but if you hear him out I assure you it will give you plenty to think about and a new point of view on the matter.
